Why Are Women Not Contesting 2015 Elections In Cross River State?

Advise To Aspiring Women Politicians

Women should first understand the rigor of politics before coming in. is they see that they possess the capacity to take the demand of responsibility of the post; taking care of more people and putting their interest first, it is generally a wider area of responsibility and if any woman can assume that then they should give it a try.

Seeing politics as an avenue to upgrade lifestyle, become something important in the society etc that is why they fail. It is not a matter of whether they are no women in the game. If women not cut out for politics come in just because they are equal partners in the population to make it 50/50 it will lead to the same problems like some men without capacity for leadership and causing; abusing and introducing wrong practices.

They should have love and passion for people because politics is a means of pursuing leadership. The normal thing People are looking for from leaders is to have a vision which you are pursuing and they can identify and join you to achieve it. The populace is looking for visionary people they can cue under and support to achieve the goals.

Leaders are currently needed who have the discipline to avoid corruption, those who can add value instead of destroying what others have put on ground.

Our women are respected and appear settled but are not agitated due to that fact that they are not marginalized. In many communities in the state, women own properties alongside the men and also can inherit. They already have a place provided for them that is why they are not agitated.

Politics is all about agitation and also the women are not interested in this politics of power grabbing. They won’t want to dole out cash. It therefore becomes pertinent for women to have visions they intend to pursue in order to enable followers key in. Also, women who find themselves in leadership positions must endeavour to live up to expectation by performing competitively, so as to instill more confidence in the society.

Finally, our women must change the way the girl child is currently raised to feel inadequate to stand tall in areas that are dominated by men, since it is evident that if followed up early lives, there are girl children who dominate educationally in mixed schools and also those that possess quality leadership potentials, which they exhibit quite early. Parents should not deny them the right by placing a lid on their choices of career; rather they should be supported to take up professions which will see them leading in the society.
Concluded.
