A coalition of student union bodies from the Northern Senatorial District of Cross River State today, threw their weight in support of the State Coordinator, Subsidy Reinvestment and Empower Programme (SURE-P), Mr Jarigbe Agom as he vies for the House of Representatives.

Agom, a one time Cross River State Coordinator, Jonathan Campaign Organisation is from Ogoja/Yala Federal Constituency. And a former contestant of the same post, eight years ago.

Addressing the press in Calabar, the groups which includes the National Association of Northern Cross River Students from the Cross River State University of Technology (CRUTECH) Old Ogoja Group, Youths Alliance for Northern Cross River Dreams (YANCRID) and Yala/Ogoja Post Graduate Group, Morim Unamu Lious, President of Northern Cross River State students said they unanimously endorsed the SURE-P Coordinator because of his philanthropic personality and loyalty to his Party. They said his sharing and caring attitude is needed in Abuja for the good of the State.

More members of the group such as Rt Hon. Onigah Puis who further lent their voices, said, “Jarigbe Agom has given us scholarships, jobs and for his benevolence, we choose to speak for him even when he did not ask us to because it is time for the youths to take their place in politics”.

Similarly, Odey Joseph Adoga, Yala/Ogaja Post Graduate Students said “we have our future in our hands. Agom has done much; each time we call on him, he answers us and we intend to identify him as a youth like ourselves” reiterating that it is for this reason that the students are cuing behind him.
The youths called on the people of Yala/ogoja Federal Constituency to support Jarigbe Agom in his ambition, stressing that he is young, vocal and ready to work, unlike those warming seats in the House without action.
