C'RIVER PDP GUBERNATORIAL PRIMARIES; AYADE COASTS HOME WITH TICKET
The incumbent Senator representing Northern Senatorial District of Cross River State, Prof Ben Ayade, has clinched the PDP ticket for the 2015 gubernatorial election in a landslide victory.
Out of the 831 votes cast, Ayade clinched 752 votes to beat the nearest contestants, Joe Agi (SAN), who scored 11 votes
Out of the Ten aspirants announced by the Chairman of the electoral panel, Prince Shola Akanmode of the centre minutes before voting commenced, four of the aspirants publicly announced their withdrawal from the race in support of prof Ben Ayade.

Barr. Mike Aniah
Rt. Larry Odey
Barr Fidelis Ugbo
Prof Ben Ayade
Mr Jeddy Agba
Barr. Joe Agi
Barr. Legor Idagbo
Emmanuel Ibeshi
Those who stepped down for prof Ayade included Barr Mike Aniah, immediate past secretary to the Cross River State government, Barr Fidelis Ugbo, immediate past Executive Secretary National Planning Commission, Barr Legor Idagbo, immediate past Commissioner for Works, and Rt Hon Larry Odey, past Speaker in the Cross River State House of Assembly.
Earlier in the goodwill message, the Governor and Leader of the Party said this is the first time in the history of the party in Cross River State.
Imoke thanked leaders for this election describing them as heart beat of the party.
Similarly, the State Party Chairman, Ntufam John Okon thanked all party members for keeping the PDP family in the state as a harmonious family and for aggregating the interest of the party for the benefit of all.
