When Governor Imoke Returned From Abuja
As new trends demands, Senator Liyel Imoke returned from Abuja to Calabar at the weekend, only to meet a crowd of teeming supporters at the Margaret Ekpo International Airport of our Paradise State. Arriving aboard a presidential jet, the Governor was received by his deputy, Mr Effiom Cobham, and a cross- section of seniour citizens of the state.
At the Arrival section of the airport the governor exchanged views with the State's House Press and expressed delight at the turnout of supporters, assuring them that the state will remain the peace-loving abode it has always been noted for.
Chief Akin Ricketts, Commissioner For Information Briefs Media
Governor Liyel Imoke has been described as more focus on ensuring a peaceful transparent and credible transition program for the state come 2015. This assertion was made by the Commissioner for Information at an interview with newsman in his office. Chief Ricketts informed that the governor is providing a levelled playing ground for all contenders of political positions. He promised that only the best will emerge to lead Cross River State come 2015.
He insisted that the governor has spent so much time and energy and significant part of his life to ensure the overall wellbeing of the people, he will not allow anything to go wrong. He emphasize that the governor's position is to ensure that due process is followed and the right things done.
He reiterated false, the rumour from some quarters that the governor will leave the PDP.
He described the governor as the leader of the party in the state whom no mere disagreement can push out of the party.

On the recent name calling of the governor by former governor Donald Duke at a political rally by a political aspirant, he emphasize that Senator Imoke as a gentleman, astute politician, and renounced administrator will not join issues or indulge in such frivolities. He noted that as human beings political differences at some points are normal.

He advised Cross Riverians to have faith in the transition. Reminding them that they have the right to support their candidate of choice and the governor will not coax anybody to support any candidate in the process.
He advised people not to make a mountain out of a mole and that the government will not tolerate any action or inaction intended to heat up the polity of the state irrespective of their political status.
Ntufam Okon, State’s PDP Chairman Advices
The Chairman of PDP, Ntufam John Okon during the screening exercise advised aspirants under the party's platform to intensify their campaigns as the election draws close in order to emerge victorious.
He urged the candidates who were receiving their certificate to shun violence and conduct themselves peacefully for the entrenchment of democratic principles.
On their part, the aspirants promised not to fail the state as they were satisfied with the screening.

When Aspirant Fidelis Ugbo was Cleared
PDP has cleared Governorship Aspirant Barr Fidelis Ugbo to contest for the party's primaries of the 2015 governorship election. The Barrister disclosed this at the weekend in Port Harcourt shortly after the exercise by the Zonal Committee.
He commended the Leadership of the party and the screening committee for the good conduct and successful exercise.
He further described PDP as a party with high regards for fairness and respect for democracy.




CASE DISMISSED!
Abuja Federal High Court has dismissed the suit to sustain the controversial result of November 1st PDP Ward Congress Election in the state. It says it is a party matter which has no jurisdiction to entertain. Matter to be settled in-house by party leaders.
