The Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) flag bearer in Cross River State, Senator Ben Ayade has promised to offer selfless service and add value to the lives of Cross Riverians by running a government with sound economic principles.
Senator Ayade who was speaking in Calabar when the group, Cross River Consensus paid him a solidarity visit said Cross River cannot afford to continue to depend on the federation account as a major source of income and stressed the urgent need for the State to begin to explore other viable ventures for its development.
The Governorship candidate stated that with the support of Cross Riverians, he will lead a knowledge driven administration.
He assured that if elected as governor, he will vigorously build an economy that will focus on manufacturing and production and will ensure that Cross Riverians will be privileged to consume what is produced in the State.
According to the Governorship candidate, Cross River at this time need a government that can refocus the economic structure to run a very professional economy and bring about initiatives that will create room for expansion and diversification.
Ayade expressed great concern about Africa’s economic woes and advised that drivers of the continents economy must begin to think outside the box.
He called on the youth to imbibe the culture of hard work and discipline and acknowledged that the peaceful disposition of Cross Riverians has endeared the State to investors and called on all to sustain it.
The Governorship candidate promised to sustain the gains of the past administrations and assured the State Governor, Senator Liyel Imoke of his commitment towards the development of Cross River State.
