DEEJAY ASSOCIATION TO CLAMP DOWN ON IMPOSTERS, SANCTION ERRING MEMBERS

The National DEEJAYS Association of Nigeria is collaborating with COSON to clamp down on impersonators even as they vow to sanction members who failed to register with the association.

National President of the association Mr. Tade Adeyemi-DJ Cool disclosed this while fielding questions from our correspondent on the post 4th National Conference 2014 of the Professional Disc Jockeys Association (PRODISCJOCA) which took place in Calabar.

Adeyemi stressed on the need for the unity of DJ Jockeys urging members of the association to put all hands on deck to ensure that only those who are in the DJ industry reap whatever booty and largesse that is associated with the job I.e. if they are serious to put a halt to infiltration of quacks into the profession and warned that the leadership of the association will no longer tolerate impersonators who were in the habit of parading themselves as DJs when thereby depriving practitioners of the profession from reaping the dividend that accrues from the practice of the DJ profession and vowed to go extra mile to ensure that quacks are pursued away from the profession.

Also speaking the Cross River state Chairman of the DJ association, Francis Bassey a.k.a DJ Sacra who spoke simultaneously with the state Public Relations Officer Mr. Gommexx Bassey a.k.a DJ Gommex stressed that the job of DJ jockeys would henceforth cease to be an all comers affairs but strictly for those who register with the association.
"Our Branch believes and agreed to pay for COSON license to operate if it is the norm in other developing countries. But we suggest that COSON must pass through associations to license their members. Our union will have to show COSON her members for licensing which means non registered members shall not be licensed. This will attract every one to the union before operating in the industry. COSON Task Force will collaborate with our task force, security operatives to fish out non registered members who would face sanctions as soon as possible. The duo stated.

The Deejay leaders vowed to clamp down on imposters like keke riders who in recent times had taken TO usurping the job of the association stressing that it would no longer be business as usual for impersonators.
