How Labour Party Reps Candidate was Kidnapped in Cross River

The Labour Party Candidate for Akpabuyo,Bakassi/Calabar South Federal Constituency Barr.Dominic Aqua Edem was on Sunday night Kidnapped by fully arm gun men.
Aqua Edem was kidnapped by five unknown gun men who trailed him to his house in Essien street in Calabar South Local Government Area of Cross River State apparently when he was returning from one of the political meetings/consultations.


Eye witness account said that Dominic a former Deputy Speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly was kidnapped at about 9pm while driving home alone in his metallic black Toyota Land Cruiser jeep unknown to him that he was being trailed by five able bodied young me who drove into his compound in a small Toyota car just immediately when Aqua`s gateman opened the gate for his boss to enter into his compound and the kidnapped also droved into the compound and whisked the LP candidate, threw him into their small Toyota car and zoomed off with him.
Family source said no phone call had been made from the kidnappers den to the family of the LP candidate.
Apart from Aqua being an ex- Commissioner representing Cross River with Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC, he is a former Deputy Speaker with the Cross River State House of Assembly during the Donald Duke administration.

Our Correspondent gathered that in the last six weeks the spate of kidnapped and several other Chairman of Cross River State Branch of Independent Petroleum Marketers of Nigeria IPMAN was kidnapped and it was alleged that he paid N7million ransom to kidnappers, his deputy also paid N6million ransom and another Igbo origin top business mogul kidnapped by these bad boys paid N6million to the kidnappers to enable him regain his freedom. 


When contacted to know if the Police was aware of the incidence the Police Public Relations Officer PPRO DSP Hogan Bassey said the incidence had been reported to the police and that police and is working tirelessly to get to the root of the matter so that the bad eggs in our society can be caught and apprehended
