Chief Executive Officer of CRAANI, Mr Kingsley Okoma, said Etim was illegally arrested and brutalized by police men on feb 5, 2015 in front of Sparkz Supermarket where he works along Eta Agbor road in Calabar.
``Stanley was arrested by three operatives of the D5 at the State CID for alleged involvement in armed robbery.
He was beaten, tortured and detained without any investigation or trial on Feb. 5.’’, he said.
According to Okoma, the family of Stanley returned back to the police station on Feb 6, but could not find Stanley.
``As we speak, Stanley has not been seen dead or alive and the fear is that he may have been murdered.
``I am calling on the police now to show to his family dead or alive to assuage their fears. We will stop at nothing to ensure that justice is not only done but seen to be done’’, Okoma said.
Mr Steven Peters, the employer of Stanley, said that Stanley has never stolen from his supermarket or shown any act of robbery before.
Peters urged the police to hasten their investigations and bring its personnel that would be found wanting to book.
Reacting to the matter, ACP Ganiyu Salamai who is in charge of CID, said that the police was aware of the case and investigation on the matter was still ongoing.
