Labour Party Senatoral campaign Halts Business Activities In Zone




The Labour Party, campaign train by Dr.Sandy Onor on Tuesday brought gridlock which caused traffic hold up resulting in breakdown of business activities in Ikom, the commercial nerve centres of Cross River State.

Other towns in the central senatorial district that suffered breakdown of business activities as a result of the gridluck which broke out because of the campaign train includes Etung, Obubra and Boki local government area of the state when the campaign train of its senatorial candidate, Dr Sandy Onor, stormed the zone.

Onor, a core loyalist of the Senate Leader Victor Ndoma Egba and a two- time Director General DG for Imoke`s Campaign organisation, decamped with thousands of his supporters to Labour Party late last year following the inability of Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba to scale through the Peoples Democratic Party’s primaries.
Our Correspondence gathers that there was severe gridlock along the popular Ikom-Calabar, Ikom –Ogoja roads for hours as crowd of supporters with their vehicles embarked on their first open awareness campaign.

Trycicle riders and Motorists who did not expect such traffic jam, had no option than to wait in their vehicles as the campaign train went from one street to another with long convoys displaying their expertise acrobatically to the perhaps to solicit support from of passers-by.

Speaking at the palace of Okim Enang Epache Nkome kingdom, HRH Nane-Okim Nsor Ogar of, the LP candidate told the monarch that he had come to receive blessings from the royal father stressing that when given the privilege to lead the people at the National Assembly, he would give the zone an effective representation.
“Since they say because Senator Victor Ndoma Egba has spend twelve years in the National Assembly should not go back, Hon John Owan Enoh who has spent four years in the State House of Assembly and twelve years in the National Assembly too should not also go back. I stand in the gab to bring in new things,” he stated.
Reacting, the Royal Father,stated “the blessing I give you today will see you through because it is from our heart. Go to the grassroots and educate your people of the change of party, and you shall succeed.

In Etomi village,in Etung Local Government of the state, witnessed another unprecedented crowd of youths, who welcomed Onor and his entourage with dances, song and cultural display
They appealed to the LP strongman to forgive the people for initially giving support to Onor’s main opponent, Hon John Owan Enoh of House of Representatives, because ‘we did not know Sandy would come out.”
The described Onor as Ndoma-Egba’s political son and vowed to come out enmass on the election day to demonstrate that anger by voting for Onor into office.
