The wife
of the Cross River State Governor, Mrs Obioma Imoke, set in motion on Friday,
the 2014 children carnival in Calabar. Speaking at the occasion, Imoke said the carnival began seven years ago to celebrate children.
She revealed that the event
had created financial sustainability for Cross River,
hence the need to sustenance.
In the
remarks of the Chairman of Calabar Carnival Commission, Mr Gabriel Onah, he said the carnival was also a way of commemorating
the birth of Jesus Christ.
Meanwhile
the Government has issued announcements that three roads, including Mary
Slessor, IBB round and U.J Esuene stadium, would be used for the four-kilometer
carnival walk.
Even though the big day is today, the
