LABOUR PARTY APPEARS; ADOPTS PRES. GEJ FOR 2015


C’RIVER CHAPTER

Labour party LP, Cross River State chapter has advanced reasons why some leading members of their party support Goodluck Ebele Jonathan in his 2015 presidential ambition.

“We support Jonathan, not because of the People’s Democratic Party, but because he has done well”.

The Cross River State party chairman, Austin Ibok made this disclosure last week in Calabar, while unveiling the party’s guidelines/timetable for the 2015 elections.

Ibok said the Labour Party is poised to match the ruling People’s Democratic Party in the state one-on-one in the contest for political offices in the 2015 general elections.

“Labour party will win if not governorship, several other seats in Cross River”.

According to Ibok, LP is an alternative political party for the good people of Cross River  and Nigerians at large who want to “effect positive change from politics of do or die to an all embracing, ideological based platform that mirrors your desire for a better tomorrow”.

He said LP strives at all times to observe all tenets that make for good governance stressing that the party has always avoided engaging in any aspect of politics that is not issue based.

The party helms man and other officers of the party called on the people of Cross River and residents “who desire social stability, national security and democratic consolidation” to join the Labour Party which he said makes its intent and nomination forms available at “the cheapest rates in the country. He called on the people to be proactive and join LP rather than being arm chair critics.

 Ibok reiterated that since there are no independent candidates at elections in Nigeria, LP will always support credible aspirants irrespective of the party affiliations even as they battle to take over Aso Rock one of these day.


 Hmmm, what do you think? Note; Some people say, Labour Party is just an extension of PDP, and they have not been able prove otherwise.
Meanwhile, in other climes a Labour Party will be well positioned to strengthen
