Nigerians are very
forgiving, they don’t see all that, they are full of emotions of who’s leaving
office and who is coming in.
They are more interested in
events and their fellow sufferers
It is more about who hates
Jonathan or who hates Buhari
We do not care, whether
the administration performed of not?
We can argue in the
darkness because there is no light and on empty stomachs because there is no
food, but that is no longer new.
Every new government raises
our hope so much just for the first few months until the same circle of leaders
start to help themselves, families and friends.
Then we start moaning and
kicking only on the internet.
See, we are a people that
never learn
We have all adjusted to
bad governance and to make us appear like we careWe make enemies among the common folks
Tomorrow is another day
We live one day at a timeWe shall be busy struggling for the next day’s meal day after swearing in tomorrow
Too busy to watch when the looting begins
But we won’t easily forget who did not like our post while campaigned for our candidate
Some of us want to delude
ourselves that we belong, because OUR MAN won
Yet together we will live
in starvation and darkness when the looting is doneAnd there are two kinds in
The Inside prison and the Outside prison
The Nation continues in the prison of poor leadership.
Only that the people do not care about this anymore,
We think that religion and ethnicity will deliver us
So we put our blind faith on these two, while
the circle continues
All we need is change
When will Nigerians learn that accountability is very important?
When will the wounds of the past be addressed?
When will anyone go to prison for corruption?
Another set of politicians are ready to take positions
With a mindset of cutting their share
There is hope we all are saying, on the shoulders of one man
But if we don't make up our minds to end the corruption from our little corners
No change can change anything
