If every human being had the choice, they would have chosen to be born with as much beauty and good looks as possible.  Even though there are advancements in the world on systems, the real beauty of a person can be told by their realty appearance.

While there are many advantages in comeliness, it could also become an impediment under some African customs and cultural beliefs. And so many people still hold these beliefs even if unconsciously.

The following are some of those myths still circulating on the issue. 

 They Are Possessed With Demons

Especially in Africa where they still have deep-rooted traditional beliefs like the ogbanje, marine-spirit, which is alleged to possesses women that are beautiful by marrying them in the spirit; men are often advised to shun women that are too beautiful because they live in two worlds.

They are less endowed in the brain. That is, less intelligent

A beautiful woman is believed to possess less brainpower than those who are less endowed. Whether it is the reality remains a puzzle as most times, the woman with the brain is the one who does not possess much to look unto outwardly.

They are proud

There is a fallacious view that every beautiful woman is heady and proud, and does not respect others.

They are lazy

It is also widely believed that they are lazy and unindustrious, that they even lack the capacity to manage their lives and businesses, when challenged with these tasks.

They make bad marriages

They are believed to be careless about their partners and children. And that they are full of vanities and selfish in nature. It is believed that they will always leave their husbands.

They lack good manners

They are also those who just abhor a beautiful woman as soon as she is met because they believe she will eventually possess no manners. They feel they do not even have to court her because she has nothing to offer in that area.

They lack energy to carry out domestic chores

It is often believed that a beautiful woman does not possess the bones to engage in energy sapping duties. They hold the view that her elegance and appearance has already told her story and that she is most likely to choose activities that are less physical.

They don't steady in marriage with one man.

It is a view that a beautiful woman is flirty in nature because a lot of men desire her and flaunt good things her way, hence having to fight the temptation to abide with one man, especially before marriage. Hence, men in friendship relationship with such women hardly trust them with fidelity.

They prefer to marry men with money.
It is also believed that beautiful women always prefer men that are loaded. In this regard men who are poor in the pocket always have complex approaching fine ladies because they believe that they don’t stand any chance.
