GROUP INDICTS DONALD DUKE, NDOMA-EGBA

PDP Elders and Concerned Stake holders in Cross River South Senatorial District have accused the senate leader, Victor Ndoma-Egba and former governor of Cross River State, Mr. Donald Duke.

In a press conference in Calabar Monday, leader of the group, and a former member of the House of Representative, Etubom Nya Asuquo said the duo of Donald Duke and Victor Ndoma-Egba want to drag “Cross River back into the Stone Age” alleging that the two have always manipulated the political climate in the state to their favour and want to do it again.

“These people believe it is their birthright to give Cross Riverians the governor of their choice so as to resume the exploitation of Cross River State from where they stopped seven years”.

In a press release signed by Etubom (Hon. Dr.) Nya Eyoma Asuqou unbehalf of the group alleged that because the incumbent governor, Senator Liyel Imoke has put his foot down and insisted that democracy must be fully participatory… that is why “hell is being let loose by these people”.

Hon Eyoma Asuquo further alleged that Donald Duke and Ndoma-Egba have always dictated who rules “They find it unacceptable that the people of Cross River State should be allowed to choose the candidate and that they must impose on us a governor of their choice”.

On whether the group has evidence of the alleged imposition, Hon Asuquo told National Accord that they have adding that “this time around we will mobilize people from across the senatorial district against any imposition of candidates”.

“The royal fathers counseled that “those  who live in glass houses should not throw stones”.

It would be recalled that recently in a political lally in the state, the former governor, Donald Duke publicly indicted his successor, Senator Liyel Imoke and his administration. Aside from that, Cross River has been embroiled in disagreements in the political scene between supporters of the Govrnor and those for the Senate Leader, Victor Ndoma-Egba.
