A lawmaker representing, Sagbama constituency III in the
Bayelsa state house of assembly, Hon. Empere Ebamua has sent his wife Mrs. Tari
Ebamua packing for picking the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) nomination form
to contest against him in the 2015 general elections.
The wife of the lawmaker was said to have secretly collected
the PDP nomination form at the party secretariat without the consent of her
husband and that it was not until few days later she summoned up the courage to
tell him her political ambition.
A friend to the family told TNN that the lawmaker who is
serving out his third term, said Empere got angry when his instructions to stop
her political ambition fell on deaf ears. The 13year old marriage of the lawmaker that has produced two children may be heading for the rocks as he has sent her packing from the house they both share in Yenegoa.
It was gathered that Mrs. Ebamua is acting on the instruction of her pastor who was said to have prophesied that her husband would fail during the elections, encouraging her to contest because the Lord has revealed it to him that she would win if she contests the election.
Mrs. Ebuama has vowed to go on with her political aspiration
regardless of the crisis it has brought to her family.
“She said that she has the constitutional right to contest
for the seat in the assembly. So she is not willing to drop the ambition.”
It is learnt that PDP stake holders from the constituency
have already nominated a former commissioner for education in the state to
replace the lawmaker who is determined to return to the state assembly for the
third time.
