IMPORTANT FACTORS THAT SHOULD INFLUENCE OUR CHOICE OF A GOVERNOR FOR 2015

The State is not only broke but also heavily indebted hence, there won't be much funds for any government taking over to embezzle, except they intend to plunge the State into further debt. Instead, it requires a political visionary genius, gifted in the art of technocratic entrepreneurship, an improviser, modest personality and someone who can come up with a consolidation plan on the gains made so far by the two previous administrations.

A mature detribalised, Godly and humane personality that is passionate about Cross River State and all her peoples, who has very genuine intentions to take the state to a whole new level is needed.

Cross River State is no doubt one of the most beautiful states located in Nigeria. It is also one of the most hunted in destiny.
This realisation only became common knowledge, when through a long standing conspiracy our equally treasured parts were yanked off and donated to neighbouring State, Akwa Ibom and Country, Cameroon including the resources and people. These ceding of our oil Wells threw out our gaunt nest to the whole world. We have become like a bereaved widow stripped of all her inheritance thereafter and then closely monitored by her conspirators to see how she survives.  Though we are not all legal luminaries, the State is not starved of advisers, who have notified that the matter could still be challenged at the right quarters, therefore we need a Governor who feels aggrieved enough to use all in his power to seek redress, sooner than later, when elected.

Required for the job is a father-figure to all Cross Riverians, someone with a penchant for human resources and youth development. The state needs urgent steps to restructure power to indigenes, since at the moment most of the lucrative points are in the hands of outsiders. It is desirous that we get elected, a Cross Riverian with this full knowledge and the potential to reinvent this setback that has gone on for too long by reorienting the minds of young Cross Riverians to quit the “sit on the fence and moan” attitude and get involved, instead. It must be a man who is ready to enthrone.

Cross River State needs a kind, forgiving and large hearted personality. A generous spirited person ready to sacrifice without immediate compensation. Someone not out to chase vendetta because the people will be the ones who will suffer. Even if he is an aggrieved, he should first forgive himself and then his enemies in order to concentrate on the job with peace of mind. The State must continue to be peaceful so as to attract investors as has been shown by past leaders.

Cross Riverians do not need anyone in the quest for personal enrichment or those around him. We need a person with integrity, who understands that building up a few men with wealth while the populace remain direly poor will not at the long run yield a 21st century development.

The State is in utter need of more respected quality personalities who are morally, intellectually, socially sound and nationally ‘propel able’ in order to create a rich representative and strong voice for Cross River State whenever the need arises. Presently it is often glaring that the State lacks passionate strong people whose number one interest and agenda suffices during such important call.

The State requires an entrepreneur-grass rooter, who would understand that creating industries and factories is far greater and beneficial than creating more thugs and cultists to help him unleash terror and spill the blood of any perceived opponent.

The State needs a man who would shortly empower our women by encouraging them to acquire quality education and shun amoral lifestyles in order to inspire a generation of girl children who would become wholesome mothers to nurture great citizens for the Cross River State of our dreams.

The State needs a leader who understands that unlike other States in Nigeria we are already weakened by the multiple tribal nature of the Cross River State, thus we need a uniting factor to create a unity that will end the gory inter-tribal bloodshed often presented in the form of ethnic wars and senseless squabbles. And for those dreaming of a new state that will be created before their personal liberation, I pray they understand that the new state does not yet exist and there is a proverb in Lokaa which can be translated thus; a dog that does not cleanse its first baby by licking off its dirt immediately after birth, often has a precedence of not licking its second”.

Dear Cross Riverians, if there be one aspirant you know with these qualities, irrespective of his political party, please let us massively support and vote for in the 2015 Governorship Elections. Cross River has always been a pacesetter in many aspects just as it also possesses men and women of honour, it is important that we realize it has to take its national pride of place as Nigeria’s first Capital, as well as reflect its paradise status for its indigenes.
