Barr. Joe Agi(SAN)

Joe Agi was born 10th October, 1960, from Yala Local Government Area, of the Northern Senatorial District of Cross River State. He is a Lawyer by profession, astute politician, a philanthropist and a community leader of both the State and the nation in general.

 As a young adult, Joe Agi was educated at the University of Calabar, Calabar-Nigeria, a graduate of faculty of Law and was appointed Notary Public for Nigeria in 1990. He became chattered Arbitrator of Nigeria, 2001 and subsequently has been practicing Law in Nigeria from where he was elevated to the eminent status of Senior Advocate of Nigeria in the year 2006. Agi became one of the outstanding SAN in Nigeria and registered as Cross River Indigene to be elevated to Senior Advocate of Nigeria.

Between 2002, to 2013 Joe Agi, SAN held reputable positions in the State, in respect to Legal matter. Executive Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) 2006, held various position in NBA & successfully rank into the state over 4 billion during NBA convention 2013, cheerfully title of OJEBAJE 1 of YALA KINGDOM, National Chairman Nigeria Bar Association Conference Planning Committee, 2013 with a lot of other positions related to legal matters in both Cross River State and Nigeria. Joe Agi also took bold steps in traditional drive for the economic development and desire for the welfare of the people of our State. As of then the Secretary of the Cross River State Redemption Movement, he fought and repossessed a lot of Palm Plantations in Cross River State that constitute one of the bedrock of the State wealth.

As a friend of the down trodden and masses friendly personality, he has done several pro bono cases for individuals and communities. He has sponsored many community development projects, and is an industrialist business strategy.

Joe Agi – SAN has also supported the political growth of Cross River State from the 80s and is currently a caucus member of PDP on whose platform he is aspiring.

He has contested elections as governorship aspirant on the defunct UNPP platform. He is widely travelled for conferences and Law practice to countries in Europe, America, Asia, Middle East and Africa. A devoted Christian and a true citizen of Cross River State married to Mrs. Eno Agi an Odukpani Local Government Lady.

JOE AGI – SAN wishes to transform Cross River State to be a preferred investment and tourist destination that will have the State an outstanding economic hub for the people and the nation. Agi in his mission statements stated that he will offer visionary, committed and transparent quality of his leadership to move the State forward, to build and develop entrepreneurial networks for the diversification and re-engineering of the country. He further wants to expand infrastructure to deepen the economic and social life of the people and also harness the rich natural features of human resources, cultural values and practices to build the State into a robust and executive tourism status.

He also expresses his action to consider the following as priority (ies);

Leadership development
Entrepreneurial Development and Networking to focus development driven by the institutionalization of transformational leadership, team work and team building, work values reorientation and Grass root mobilization and education.
To establish and/or strengthen existing relevant MBAs
Institutitionalise EDP in educational institutions and communities
Skills training, Re-skilling and mass Apprenticeship
Values chain in production, processing and marketing (PPM).
He also stressed the needs to carryout lucrative policies to transform the State. These transformations include;

Agriculture; to development of youths in individual and cooperative farming of short duration commercial crops like Tomato, Rice, Pepper, Cucumber, Water melon, Maize etc through mechanized farming and other modern agricultural technique, development of Agro-allied industries based on values chain and to establish common Facility Centres for packaging, marketing/sales network.

Internally Generated Revenue (IGR)
Security
Rural Development/ Empowerment and finally Rural Development/ Empowerment.
