Rt. Honourable Larry Odey has been at the forefront of the advocacy for free and

fair elections at all levels of the democratic process, based on his strong conviction that only transparent polls and playing the game by the rules can eschews rancor and acrimony.

  ·He is a tested and highly consistent personality who has impressive records of achievements and pedigree both as Speaker of the House and one-time acting Governor of the State.

 ·        Honourable Larry Odey is an astute and committed leader cum administrator of uncommon zeal to serve his people with a rare spirit of humility and emotional stability.

·        Larry’s resolve to serve in the highest office is motivated by his burning desire to contribute to the socio-economic growth of the State while sustaining or ever improving upon its current ranking as the most peaceful and cleanest in the country.

·        Propelled by unwavering commitment to maintain the momentum of development and accelerate growth, with the mission to establish harmony and prosperity as a legacy for Cross Riverians, he will effectively consolidate the transformation structures on ground in concert with the provision of the Seven Point Development Agenda of Governor Liyel Imoke’s administration; which has positioned the State at the national and global limelight.

 ·        Born on the 11th, of April 1961 in Yala, Cross River State. Larry is the Speaker of the State House of Assembly. He is a committed member of the hallow chamber since 2007. In 2012, Larry took oath of office as acting Governor of the State during which period he displayed great dexterity in leadership engineering, as he achieved an uneasy role of stabilizing the ship of the State.

·        A man of many blessed parts, Larry has served meritoriously in many boards and committees in the State at various critical moments in the development of the State. For instance; He was a board member of SUBEB and State Science Technical Board as well as the State Business Council at different times between the years 2001 to 2003.

·        In party Assignments, Larry had also served the Party as member Contact and Mobilization Committee, PDP South-South Rally in 2003, Member PDP Chairmanship Aspirants Screening Committee PDP campaign organization.

·        Larry is an erudite Scholar and Academic, and expectant of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in international relations, having bagged two Masters of Science Degrees in international relations and the other in Public Administration in 2005 and 2010 respectively.

·        Larry had earlier in 1986 graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in History/Education at the University of Port-Harcourt.

·        With a Global Reach and vast knowledge of issues; Honourable Larry Odey has attended capacity building Workshops and conferences in most countries of the world including, Germany, Belgium, England and South Africa as well as Namibia and Sri Lanka.

·        In terms of award of Excellence, Larry has several honors in his kitty, for instance; in 2003 the Konrad Adeneur Foundation bestowed on him its coveted award of excellence for leadership, while the United Nations Habitat Global Youth Programme also honored him in 2012 for immeasurable contribution to ecological preservation.

·        Other awards included UN Women 2014 Gender Equality Award in Democratic Governance, NN Victory, Commander and Personage of Nigeria Navy Ship Victory, Calabar.

·        The Cross River State Youth Council award as The Youth Friendly Legislator as well as several other recognitions of leadership ability, achievements and outstanding contributions to humanity and mankind amongst others.

·        Honourable Larry Odey recently advised aspirants to observe party guidelines, be objective in their motives, and shun anything that might impede the PDP from winning at the final election; to achieve the historical feat  of producing the first ever Governor from the Northern Senatorial District of the State.

 ·        His dream encapsulates the aspirations of ordinary Cross Riverians where the people are adequately empowered to play dominant roles in socio-economic growth and where wealth creation and opportunities for self actualization loomed. This vision is effectively articulated in the economic blueprint of the Imoke administration. He would ensure the continuity of programmes and projects of Government as well as work towards the improvement of the Status quo.
